You are doing the right thing. The skin should look white and then be removed. The black spot you see is like the seed of the wart. They should be removed. Clip as much of the skin that you can away, then pick out the black spots with a needle or pin. Keep applying the salicytic acid until the black spots are gone as your dr prescribed. It can take weeks for a stubbon wart. If you think it’s taking too long, as your doctor to use liquid nitrogen to burn off the wart. It’s midly painful, but it will be gone in one shot.

Warts will turn white with little black spots when they’re in the process of being removed. That’s what would happen to mine when I would remove them. I never had them on my foot, but I did have em on my fingers. What worked wonders for me was apple cider vinegar. I would soak a cotton ball in it, place it on my wart and wrap a band-aid around the cotton ball. I would do it in the morning, and at night after a shower. My warts were gone and never grew back!

The best treatment is to go see a doctor so that he can scrape off the dead skin to the root of the wart (paring) and then spray liquid nitrogen. This is usually done at least three times. No treatment is 100% effective.

You can try first salicylic acid from a pharmacy OTC. Apply 3 times a week in the evening and rub off in the morning with a pumice stone. Its normal for it to become white: it must not be painful.
